About this journal

A field journal from someone who works inside messy delivery environments and translates confusion into working systems.

People, Plans & Common Sense — better conversations, clearer decisions, plans that turn into action.

This is not a technical blog. It is not a leadership-inspiration blog. It is not a project management textbook. It is a record of how real teams actually get work done, why delivery breaks, and how to rebuild it into something visible, structured, and useful.

Most of what is written here started as something I said in a meeting that should have been said earlier — to a Product Owner who was set up to fail, to a manager who thought the dashboard was the answer, to a team who had forty open tasks and no plan.

About me

I'm Kristóf Frey, a business analyst and project management professional based in County Tipperary, Ireland. My work sits where project delivery, business analysis, digital operations, and automation meet.

Over the past decade, I have worked across IT delivery, digital transformation, ERP implementation, process improvement, Agile ways of working, and stakeholder coordination. I now run Frey Synexis, helping organisations structure work, remove unnecessary manual effort, and build practical systems that support clearer decisions.

This journal is where I write down what I learn from that work: the patterns that repeat, the problems that look simple until real people and systems get involved, and the methods that actually help.

What you will find here

  • Practical writing about delivery, Product Ownership, business analysis, and digital operations.
  • Notes organised by topic, so you can follow the category that matches the problem you are dealing with.
  • Field notes from real engagements, written without names but with the specifics intact.

What you will not find

  • Frameworks lifted from a slide deck.
  • Tool tutorials disguised as strategy.
  • Inspirational quotes about leadership.
Better conversations. Clearer decisions. Plans that turn into action.

If that is the kind of writing you want in your week, the notes are over here.
